MH is a community organizer, visual artist, popular educator, creative writer, performance wizard, art and yoga facilitator and feminist researcher currently completing her Master’s in Women’s Studies at the University of Ottawa, en français. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montreal in 2006 and her work as an artist and activist has inspired her current graduate research on political theatre and the intersections between art and social transformation. MH works part-time at the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW). She has been active as a founding and core member of the Ottawa RebELLEs since 2008. MH wears many hats which include freelance work as an artist, serving the community as a yoga instructor and dabbling around as a blogger. She enjoyes sharing an uplifting perspective on personal empowerment and community building with aims to reconcile personal and social transformation. MH lives in a modest dwelling on a farm in beautiful Wakefield, Québec (Canada) and works in the Ottawa (Ontario) and Gatineau (Québec) areas. In her spare time she plays capoeira with Dende do Recife capoeira group and cultivates a daily meditation practice.
